We did it!

We changed web hosts to DreamHost and upgraded the blog software to the latest version (Typo 5.1.2) at the same time, all while keeping my cool, custom Flickr galleries and YouTube feeds intact. The family was very supportive while I worked most of the weekend setting it up and getting familiarized, working out bugs, migrating databases, etc.
Still, we got some nice swimming in during the heat wave. Susie even waded around Toad Lake for a while, and Lake Whatcom! It must officially be summer (now that the leaves are starting to fall).
I also got a good head start on my fall project, the Cascade Cross Series. That was one of the big motivaters for the switch - I can start new websites more easily without repeating a bunch of groundwork (as I did with Site5). It's also much cheaper than my original set-up on Rails Machine. We needed to save a bit of money for our physical move, but…
More on that later. Meanwhile, check out the new photo gallery Susie made (be patient - it’s a big one!). Check out the latest video, too. She’s a laugh riot!
UPDATE on Aug. 30th: If you have had trouble viewing the site and are using Internet Explorer as your browser, I apologize. I have been working on the problem for a few days and just figured it out! Might I also recommend Firefox?
